The Tank Room

This historic room is where, in 1915, the modern-day tank was conceived of.
A meeting was held in the Summer of 1915 between William Ashbee Tritton, Managing Director of William Foster, a Lincoln engineering firm; his chief draughtsman William Rigby and W. G. Wilson, a Naval Officer.
From this meeting, emerged the designs for what was to become known as the ‘Tank’ and several hundred were subsequently built in Lincoln.
The Tank Room offers a unique and intimate space for meetings and can accommodate 15 delegates in a theatre style setup. The historic surroundings are also suited to smaller board room style meetings for up to 10 people and can also be used for private dining for delegates.
With room for 100 delegates, the King Richard II is perfect for functions with speakers, keynotes and presentations.
