Enjoyed your visit to the White Hart Hotel? Then why not explore what else The Loxley Collection has to offer?
The Loxley Collection is a small, but growing collection of hotels that not only includes The White Hart, but also the Polurrian on the Lizard in Cornwall and the soon to be transformed Judges Lodgings in Lincoln.
Following the acquisition of The White Hart Hotel in 2022, owner Andrew Long also purchased the historic Judge’s Lodgings, just a stone’s throw away from the hotel.
With renovations starting soon, the Judge’s Lodgings are set to include a stylish, yet informal Bistro, elegant serviced and self-catering accommodation, and a new pedestrian link from the city’s iconic Bailgate to the historic Castle Square.
The predominantly Georgian building was first built in 1810 and has a commanding ‘landmark’ location overlooking Castle Hill Square, immediately adjacent to the Eastern Main Gate of Lincoln Castle (built by William Conqueror in 1068).
The Polurrian on the Lizard has welcomed visitors to the Cornish Lizard Peninsula for more than a century, with famous figures including Marconi, Winston Churchill and Clark Gable taking advantage of its unrivalled location.
First built in 1890, the Polurrian was originally a fashionable railway hotel appealing to guests taking advantage of the Brunel constructed Great Western Railway. In 1901, Guglielmo Marconi stayed at the Polurrian while sending the first ever transatlantic radio messages from nearby Poldhu Cove.
With its stunning views across Mounts Bay and some of the finest sunsets in the country, the Polurrian is now one of the most stylish coastal hotels in Cornwall.
The name for The Loxley Collection was inspired by our founder’s personal links with Nottingham and his love of the area’s history, famous for the ‘fictional’ Robin of Loxley (otherwise known as Robin Hood).
With more exciting hotels and exclusive use private rental accommodation in the pipeline, The Loxley Collection will expand to offer a carefully curated selection of elegant accommodation in unique locations in both the UK and Europe. Watch this space for further updates!
