Have You Spotted Our White Hart Austin A10 Van?

Austin A10 Vintage Van White Hart Design

Tuesday 03 October 2023

While promoting the upcoming reopening of the hotel, you may have spotted a vintage vehicle pulling up to events and appearing in Uphill Lincoln.

We are especially proud to have acquired an amazing 1935 Austin A10 van, which has been resprayed and updated with our smart new White Hart branding.

The former White Hart Garages located opposite the Hotel were originally built in 1935 and then operated as Cathedral Motor Services. Prior to this, they were RM Wrights Austin Dealership and Workshops from the 1940’s through to early 1960’s when they moved to their then new Dealership Premises on Outer Circle Road.

The hotel’s owner, Andrew Long, said: “We’re delighted to be able to promote the hotel with this prized model of van from such a suitable date for the hotel’s history. The Austin A10 is an instantly recognisable classic and we’ve had countless people show an interest in taking a look whenever we’ve had it out on the road and at events.”

“Those who frequent Bailgate and the Uphill area of Lincoln will no doubt spot it out and about in the coming months.”

Austin 10 Vans were launched in the 1930s and the associated Austin car was the company’s best-selling model. They continued in production, with upgrades, until 1947. The ‘10’ came between Austin’s famous ‘baby’ Austin Seven which was launched in 1922 and their Austin Twelves which came in 1931. An iconic brand, they remain a much-loved marque among collectors and enthusiasts alike.

The White Hart is currently being renovated and refurbished reopening later this autumn.
