When it comes to dining at the White Hart Hotel, we have been famed for our menu for decades. However, as the nights draw in and the weather turns a little chillier, we have decided to launch an autumn menu with a difference.
Inspired by local heritage cuisine, this menu reflects what makes Lincolnshire’s produce so well renowned, from our fresh fruit and vegetables to our local meat producers as well as our famed county breweries, distilleries and more.
Here at the White Hart, we believe in placing local, seasonal ingredients at the centre of our menus and this autumn is no exception.
Chris Punter, our Head Chef explains: “Autumn is a fantastic time to create a seasonal menu. Our local vegetable producers are at the top of their game and the comforting and warming dishes we’re able to produce with their help is exceptional.
“This year we’ve created a choice for our diners that balances elegant fine dining with a sense of warmth and familiarity. We hope that our passion for a sumptuous dining experience and a sense of comfort shines through.”
Local ingredients showcased À la carte
A case in point is the hotel’s new À la carte menu. Amongst the starters on offer are a selection of seafood dishes, including pan seared scallops with celeriac textures and a bacon crumb.
However, the local choice of Lincolnshire beef tartare is a marvel, featuring a subtly smoked egg yolk and straw potatoes to enhance the flavours and a drizzle of nasturtium oil.
For the selection of mains, a roast leg of rabbit offers a taste of game from the county and an incredible Lincolnshire beef dish with bone marrow fondant, celeriac puree and a Bordelais jus offers a rich, hearty option that showcases the high standards the county takes to raise fantastic livestock.
Desserts are also something the hotel prides itself on. A selection of comforting crumbles, delicious ice creams are joined by a tempting peach and apricot cake and a Lincolnshire cheese board complete with county-made plum bread, a regional speciality which draws out the best in the cheeses on offer with a piquant sweetness not found elsewhere.
The comfort of a Sunday
For the ultimate in comfort food, our Sunday Lunch menu is full of warming, delicious classics. A tempting topside of beef or roast loin of pork are our go-to roast choices with a selection of seasonal vegetables, but there are choices for all, including a satisfyingly creamy mushroom risotto and some local Redhill Farm free range real ale pork sausages, accompanied by chorizo, butter bean and tomato ragout.
Our Afternoon Tea
Afternoon tea should be a pleasure and at the White Hart, we are proud to be able to offer an amazing selection of fancies, feasts and fantastic treats that will not only make your afternoon special, but also reflects the seasonal elegance of Autumn.
On offer we have a delectable selection of sandwiches, paired with a fruit scone that will delight, with a strawberry jam and Rodda’s clotted cream.
