Bailgate, known locally as ‘The Bail’ teems with independent retailers, artisan food producers, elegant bars, restaurants and much more. It also carries a weight of history, being the former home to a Roman Colonnade as well as several historic churches.
Lincoln Cathedral is the city’s most iconic building. Once the tallest building in the world, the Cathedral has a long and fascinating history and acts as a landmark for much of the county. Also known as Lincoln Minster, it is a Grade I listed cathedral and is just a stone’s throw away from the White Hart.
Steep Hill is one of the most unique and indeed, steep streets in the UK. The hill has a gradient of 14% and is one of the most challenging hills to climb in England. It’s hugely popular with tourists and visitors to Lincoln, not just for the steep gradient, but also for its wealth of independent shops, boutiques, coffee shops and tearooms.
